Do the adjusting. Skip the rest.
Desk files from your home or office. Your name on every report. Compensation that is clear, upfront, and reliable.

“Kernel is building the best place to be a property adjuster: we read the file, chase the documents, and draft the report, and you make the call with every piece of evidence in front of you.”
Paid for judgment, from wherever you are.
Clear terms and a clear fee, agreed before you take a file, with the opportunity to be paid sooner.
Kernel reads the file, checks the policy, chases documents, and drafts the report. You confirm each finding against the evidence, decide, and sign.
Desk files only. Take the files you want, decline the rest, and stay on your other rosters. When an insurer's volume surges we open a window with dates, seats, and rate, and you choose.
A senior adjuster reviews a sample of your closed files, over and under counted equally. You see every score and can appeal it to a named person.
Four steps to your first paid file.
Three kinds of adjuster, one panel.
Files on agreed terms, instead of a roster that may never call.
Desk work between deployments, from wherever you are.
Your own people on panel under one contract and the same terms.
Adjusting firms: no exclusivity, and we never recruit your adjusters away from you. Early in your career? Kernel pairs you with a senior adjuster for your first files.
Questions we get from adjusters.
Do I need a licence?+
Yes, where the jurisdiction of the loss requires one, and most do. Kernel assigns files in all Canadian provinces, Ohio, Texas, and Arizona. Before your first file we tell you which licence that file needs and confirm yours. Not licensed yet: register interest anyway and keep us up to date as you get licensed.
Am I an employee?+
No. You are an independent contractor. You choose your files and windows, use your own judgment, and can work for anyone else. We send a plain-language note on what that means for taxes before you sign.
When and how am I paid?+
Fees: a flat fee per file, banded by reserve, agreed before you take a file. Clear terms, clear compensation, and the opportunity to be paid sooner.
What does Kernel do, and what do I do?+
Kernel builds the file, chases documents, schedules vendors, and drafts the report. You weigh the evidence, decide what to recommend, and sign. The file records what was drafted and what you approved.
Can my firm join?+
Yes. One contract, one contact, the same terms for your adjusters, and they stay yours.
